Educación Química occasionally publishes special issues or content curated by guest editors. To ensure editorial quality and consistency, these issues comply with the following criteria:

Editorial responsibility
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the overall content of the journal, including special issues, and ensures that they fall within the journal’s thematic scope.

Peer review and supervision
All articles included in special issues are subject to the same editorial and external peer review process as regular articles.

Credentials of guest editors
The credentials of guest editors are verified and approved by the Editor-in-Chief or by members designated by the editorial board, who supervise their work to maintain the journal’s quality standards.

Independent review process
When guest editors submit articles of their own authorship, these are managed through an independent peer review process.

Editors’ participation as authors
In special issues, the participation of guest editors or editorial team members as authors is kept limited. The journal actively encourages collaboration with external authors to ensure diversity of voices in each publication.
