Volmer surface equation of state: simple liquids and surfactants

Abstract

The Volmer surface equation of state, belongs to the family of van der Waals equations; the deviation from ideality resides in a single parameter: the molecular surface area. Coupled whit the Gibbs adsorption equation, it generates the corresponding surface equation as a function of the bulk composition under dilution or saturation condition.
