Retractions and corrections
In Educación Química, we maintain a strong commitment to the integrity and accuracy of the scientific research we publish. Despite our efforts to ensure the accuracy of articles during the review process, we acknowledge that errors or situations may arise that require corrections or retractions. In such cases, we are committed to addressing the situation ethically and transparently.
Retractions:
A retraction will be carried out when it is determined that a published article contains serious errors, such as data falsification, plagiarism, or violations of established ethical principles. Retraction may also occur if the article was published by mistake, if the author has withdrawn it for ethical or legal reasons, or if the research was retracted due to a significant ethical conflict.
Retraction Procedure:
- When a legitimate reason for retraction is identified, the journal will contact the corresponding author(s) and provide them with an opportunity to offer an explanation or response.
- If the retraction is confirmed, a retraction notice will be published, clearly identified as such, stating the reason for the retraction and providing a link to the original article for transparency.
- The retraction will be publicly accessible and maintained on the journal’s website with an explanation to help readers understand the context.
Corrections:
Corrections can be made in cases of minor errors that do not affect the scientific validity of the article. These may include typographical errors, citation errors, data errors, and others that do not involve a breach of research integrity.
Correction Procedure:
- If a minor error is detected after publication, the journal will evaluate whether a formal correction is necessary.
- If a correction is decided, an erratum or correction will be published, attached to the original article, stating the nature of the error and the correction made.
- Corrections will be clearly identified and accessible to all readers.
Commitment to Transparency:
We are committed to ensuring that all retractions and corrections are handled with the utmost transparency. Scientific integrity is fundamental to our journal, and we take steps to ensure that readers always have access to the most accurate and reliable information.
