Taking into account the properties of conservation of teeth in different contexts (archaeological, paleontological and forensic), it is of interest to study the ontogenetic changes of their tissues in order to develop quantitative indicators age estimation than the current ones based on other skeletal traits. Dental cementum is a mineralized connective tissue that covers dental roots, with the main function of fixing the fibers of the periodontal ligament. In its microstructure this tissue shows a series of periodically superimposed lines induced initially by masticatory stress once tooth gets in touch with its antagonist. Various techniques have been proposed to count such lines and use them in the design of an analytical model that relates this biological process with chronological age. Our objective consists of evaluating that relationship through the observation of various factors.
