This paper presents the actual state of implementation of the histological technique for estimating the individual age based on the human dental cementum. Given the properties of this tissue –its periodical increment organized by subsequent layers beginning with teeth occlusion– it has been suggested various techniques for counting the cementum lines and their use for establishing the relationship between this biological process and the individual chronological age. Now we describe a slightly different technique and one of the first digitally images obtained. Finally, we discuss some problems involved.Downloads
