Abstract

In order to improve chemical education a teaching procedure has been developed, implemented and evaluated, that offers a set of strategies to assist student learning difficulties, in order to promote student’s conceptual change. This teaching procedure also proposes a course of action that guides instruction and invites the professor to increase his/her teaching abilities and improve chemical education. To test it a general chemistry lab manual has been elaborated, using microscale techniques. In order to assess its efficacy, a cuasiexperimental study has been carried out to examine student academic efficiency and interest in chemistry topics. Analysis resulted in statistically-proven increased grades as compared to those using the so-called traditional procedure.
