Self-care: herbal knowledge for pain and other ailments

The popular knowledge and the natural and cultural diversity of Mexico are expressed in the use of medicinal plants. Self-care is one of the forms of health care and treatment of illnesses in which botanical specimens are mainly used. In this work we start with the questions: what are the ailments of the population of Jalisco? And what are the natural resources that account for self-care? through the ethnobotanical collection of the top, the lowlands and family gardens. A sociocultural epidemiological approach and recognize the natural diversity of the shores of Lake Chapala, which is articulated with traditional herbal medicine. There were 65 specimens that are used as remedies, wood and domestic resources, edible and ornamental.
