Abstract

The change in the eating habits of the rural populations, has been propitiated the increase in morbidity and mortality, such like both diabetes II and arterial hyper-tension associated with obesity. Since it is possible a genetic predisposition relate to some diseases, we analyzed APOE genotypes and compared them with the levels of triglycerides, cholesterol, glucose in the blood, and also with body mass index, in Mexican populations of Orizaba, Veracruz. The results show there is more carriers’ allele 4 with levels of cholesterol and triglycerides, and also can be to distinguish some particularities in the both sex and region of each group.
