Main Article Content

Blanca Rubio Vega

Abstract

This article analyzes the ongoing changes in the Latin America's agro-industry sector after the 2008 global crisis. It also looks into the US sluggish economy and Asia's strong economic growth. These latest developments have sharpened exports in the region. Soya, african palm, corn, sugar, cotton and coffee are great assets in Latin American countries. These products have turned into major exporting goods recently. Exports also reshaped the division of labor, with major consequences on the environment, local communities, and natural resources.
