Efectos negativos de la racionalidad moderna
Main Article Content
Abstract
First of all, this text aims to reflect on the limits of modern rationality. In times of pandemic, the adverse effects of modern instrumental rationality have become increasingly visible when one notices the collapse of the health, educational, political, and other systems. Which show that resources, institutions, and humanity as a whole are not at the service of the production, reproduction, and increase of life but are in function of the reproduction of capital, gain, profit, ultimately an illusion of progress that is far from materializing in our Western societies. This illusion has displaced life itself from the horizon, so it is necessary, in the second place, to criticize the excess of this rationality and, finally, to think about the possibilities
that critical rationality has for glimpsing solutions to the process of objectification, reification, and instrumentalization of nature and humanity.
