This paper examines the perception of the human body from the point of view of physical anthropology, which has been influenced by the Cartesian tradition, establishing categorical distinctions between mind and body, nature and culture; It is from the object of study of this discipline that a biosocial dualism is created, for explaining the human nature of Homo sapiens, which has had an epistemological impact when approaching our object-subject of study, from scientific rationality. The article emphasizes that there is not only a universal reality, but several particular ways of conceiving the world and the bodies.
