Abstract

This paper aims to make a brief sketch of the development of the concept “body image” and its use in various fields of psychology, psychiatry and its methodological inclusion in anthropological studies, specifically in anthropophysics’ works. Here we present a review of scientific papers, theses of degree in Physical Anthropology and graduate, belonging to the National School of Anthropology and History that include the concept within its theoretical or methodological framework.
