Abstract

The geographical configuration in a great part of Zimapán's territory and the surroundings in the state of Hidalgo have favored the work in mines since long time ago, and one important repercussion of this work has been the illness. In this paper we try to find out the kind of sicknesses the miners suffered, and, if possible, to know their origin, through the obtained information from the families of the dead persons whose tombs were relocated in the Santiago Apostol Church, as well as that obtained by looking at the Death Certificates that exist in the Health Center of the town, and some interviews made to people that directly or indirectly worked in the mines.
