Diverse authors, with different approaches and major or minor specific preoccupation, have dealed with the subject the body, and the corporeity in their relation with the systems of signs used by the different human societies, that is, the different verbal and not-verbal languages that shape the communicative function and the horizon of sense in the life of our species. The present work sets out some theoretical and methodological aspects of the study of the “body” starting off with semiotic concepts; this is a summarized version of a more extensive writing, currently in preparation.
