Two samples of schoolchildren, one from 1983 and the other from 1996, from Lozoya Somosierra (Madrid, España) were analysed. The following traits were considered: height, sitting heigth, weight, lean body mass, percentage of fat and body mass index. Results show increases in size and changes in body proportions and body composition. These positive secular growth trend are attribuited to improvement in socioeconomic conditions of the region.
