Violencia simbólica, extraconyugalidad y magia erótica en una localidad campesina de Veracruz

Abstract

This paper examines the coherence among cultural protocols, the regime of sexuality and the gender system that support masculine domination in a peasant community of Veracruz. This articulation allows women to use erotic witchcraft in order to maximize scarce resources. Besides, cultural conceptions about magic powers of feminine fluids and body parts sustain gender subordination and symbolic violence.
