Abstract

The families of four communities of Calakmul, Campeche, used three strategies for health care to sick of respiratory infections and gastrointestinal. At suffer discomfort, pain and mood and physical changes. Some of these problems and symptoms can be mistaken. In this way, people to seek treatment and experiment at times ineffective. The experience of illness and the search, using all the treatments they have, determine the processes of healing and knowledge of the causes of their ills. These experiences are live-ins, complementarities and/or contrast of knowledge and healing practices of the three strategies of health care. The use of one or another all depends on the diagnosis and initial treatment of the mother, the experience of the disease and the effectiveness of curative care each resource used.
