Abstract

For the purpose of facial reconstruction of skulls, the correlation between ear height (superaurale-subaurale) and nose height (nasion-subnasale) are analyzed here, as well as the correlation between ear height and glabella-subnasale height. The purpose is to know which of both measurements is closer ear height and then be able to use it for the bidimensional and sculptural reconstruction of the outer ear. Measurements were made by computer through a series of lateral digitalized photographs of 200 males and 200 females, taken from our caramex file. The conclusion is that the measurement of glabella-subnasale is the one that has, on average, a better correlation with ear height.
