Abstract

The case described pertains to a chronic humeral dislocation. Osteologic evidence shows a degenerative joint disease of both humeral bones and in the anterior margin of the glenoid fossa, as a result of the injury. It afected pectoral muscles limiting the movement of arms and their biomechanic. The chronic dislocation of the humeral joint has been described as related with capsular injury at the same zone as a result of displacement of humerus, possibly leaving an axilar nervus injury as a result the muscular contractions on the deltoids muscle, as seen in epileptic shocks, with their own implicated consecuences. The individual described, belongs to a part of a contemporary osteology collection, it is located at Anatomy Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine in Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). It is 109 number of the classification, belongs to a female individual of 72 years. The individual came to the Department of Anatomy, after her death in 1997. She was a patient from a Psychiatric Hospital, “Adolfo M. Nieto”.
