Abstract

Discriminant analysis have been a sustained tool for sex determination in human skeleton, however it has a limitation that is settled on the fact that its results only can be applicable to the population to whom this research, derives or the biological from, population closest to them. Because of this, it is necessary to do a research for our Mexican population. This research will take a control of skeleton collection that includes a data with determinated sex. This work presents the results of healthy patella of 64 skeletons which belong from to the excavations in a contemporary cementery from Caltimacán, Tasquillo, Hidalgo, are presented in order to determine the sex according with mathematics functions proposed by Introna et al. (1998). This proposal is based on the multivariate analysis of seven patella measurements.
