Condiciones de vida y nutrición de los antiguos habitantes de Xcambó, Yucatán

In the following study it is presented an interpretation biocultural of the conditions of life and the prehispanic population’s of Xcambó nutrition, the grateful Classic’s coastal establishment as center producing of salt and commercial nodule of the northwest coast of the peninsula of Yucatan. The work is centered in reconstructing the nutrition state and of health through theanalysis paleonutritional sustained in indicative paleopatological related with anemic and infectious states suffered in life (cribra orbitalia, porotic hyperostosis and the complex periostitis osteomyelitis) and supplemented with the estimate of the maximum stature in a sample conformed by 335 skeletons recovered in representative areas of the place. The results are evaluated establishing the presence, grade and pattern of incidence from the indicative paleonutritionals to chronological and space level. Noticing a relatively homogeneous population that ease rigorous conditions of life to all the long of the occupation of the establishment.Downloads
