Abstract

In this article, Neil Leach, a theorist, architect, and author from the United Kingdom, shares his insights on artificial intelligence, not only as a powerful tool, but also as a threat. By analyzing the viewpoints of various scholars, Leach posits AI as a form of alien intelligence in so far as it is reshaping our understanding of human intellect.

Author Biographies

Neil Leach

Es arquitecto y profesor del Reino Unido. Como investigador para la NASA, desarrolló tecnologías de impresión tridimensional para la Luna y Marte. Ha publicado 40 libros de teoría de la arquitectura y diseño digital. Sus libros más recientes incluyen Architecture in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: An Introduction to AI for Architects (Bloomsbury, 2022) y Machine Hallucinations: Architecture and AI (Wiley, 2022).

Daniel Daou, Facultad de Arquitectura de la UNAM

Es doctor en diseño por la Universidad de Harvard. Cuenta con dos maestrías por el Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts: en planeación urbana y en ciencias de los estudios de la arquitectura. Estudió la licenciatura en arquitectura en la Universidad Iberoamericana. Es profesor asociado de la Facultad de Arquitectura de la unam. Sus intereses giran en torno al postcapitalismo, la contrasustentabilidad y el diseño planetario.
