Pictures at an Exhibition: Arquitectura y urbanismo de nuestro tiempo (Amancio Williams, Buenos Aires, 1949)

Abstract

In 1949, Amancio Williams organized an exhibition in Buenos Aires under the title Architecture and Urbanism in Our Time, which displayed a large number of plans and photographs he had acquired on a 1947 trip to Europe, on which he made contact with Le Corbusier, Marcel Lods, Pierre Jeanneret and many others, who provided many of these materials. With a catalog designed by Tomás Maldonado, the vicissitudes of this exhibition reveal the state of architectural culture at the time.
