Abstract
This article analyzes the Monterrey architectural projects published in domestic and foreign architectural
journals in order to enrich the history of Mexican architecture in the mid-twentieth century by
incorporating other perspectives. It explores the architects that built in this region, the reasons why
these projects in particular were disseminated and the meanings that these buildings had for Monterrey
society, as well as the possibility that modernity in Monterrey could be explained through these
print publications.
