The Six Sigma model in the Hematology internal quality control assessment

Abstract

Six Sigma is a quality control model that was first introduced into the Industry in 1979 by Motorola Company. With this model possible causes for error can be detected so they're eliminated to improve the process. Six Sigma can be used for Internal Quality Control assessment in a regular basis for evaluation and joint with the External Quality Control in the integral analytic phase evaluation too. We made the six months sigma average calculation of Hematology Internal Quality Control, and used CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments), SEQC (Sociedad Española de Química Clínica), Tonks, Aspen and Qualitat suggested specifications. The sigma average value of three quality control levels is 5.967 (CLIA) which is an optimal quality level.
