Abstract

The capillary lobular haemangioma is a frequent soft tissues tumour. It is a focal reactive growth of fibrovascular tissue with endothelial proliferation. Clinically it is a red brilliant lesion, pedunculated or sessile, and range in size from a few millimetres to a few centimetres. It does not exist significant predilection to gender or sex. This is a report of two clinical cases of patients who assisted at the Paediatric Dentistry Clinic of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México for attention. Case 1: A 1 year 5 months male, presenting an inferior gingival enlargement. Clinical examination reveals a 70 x 60 x 40 purple, bilobulated, and rapid evolution lesion. Case 2: A seven year old male who presents a hyperplasic gingival lesion that covers partially the clinical crown of the first permanent upper left molar. It’s a 36 x 11 x 4 mm red brilliant and firm consistent lesion. In both cases an excision biopsy was done and the histopathology diagnosis was pyogenic granuloma. Proposed etiologic factors for this lesion include trauma and poor oral hygiene, although, in this cases the pyogenic granuloma was provoked by dental eruption that is not listed as an etiological factor in the literature.
