Sintomatología depresiva en universitarios: Estudio de una muestra de alumnos de pedagogía

Abstract

This study analyse the necessity of research in the area of prevention of depression. The sample consisted of 100 college students of Faculty of Education from the Complutense University of Madrid, who completed the State-Trait Depression Questionnaire (IDER). The results showed a significant percentage of students with depressive symptoms. Unusually high depression levels among education students have important consequences that are likely to persist beyond the duration of higher education. The results are useful for mental health analysis at university environments and to guide prospective studies.
