Abstract
Latin American Studies presents in this second issue of 2023 a topic of great significance for studies and reflections on Latin America: Historical Sociology, which is a pleasant and, perhaps, unexpected novelty in the already long and very notable editorial career of this publication. The absence of said theme in the pages of Latin American Studies should not be understood as an omission but as a question related to the very configuration of the approach in the region and, in a broader sense, to the academic drifts and turns of the social sciences. and Sociology in particular, during the last decades.
