Abstract

Today we are pleased to present Latin American Studies, commemorating its fiftieth edition. With this, we ratify our commitment to contribute to the thinking of and about the region in terms of theoretical-methodological discussion, promote suggestive debates by reflecting on ongoing processes and trends, to get to know each other and analyze ourselves with a universal critical vision. Although the interest of the magazine is basically to collaborate in the analysis of Latin American problems among scholars of the region, we hope one day to go beyond specialist readers to also provoke the reading and socialization of ideas about our reality in the popular civil society of our countries.
