Latin America: militarism, democratization, structural adjustment and new policy proposals

Abstract

This article offers an overview of the different periods that Latin America undertook since the 1970s; militarism, democracy and structural adjustment. According to the author, in order to make thoughtful analyses on Latin America, we ought to consider the globalization process undergoing in the region.
