Towards realizing the right to health and social security

Abstract

To compensate for the large numbers of research studies that solely examine the reasons why the public health industry is disadvantaged under the auspices of neoliberal policies, but avoid the analysis of the consequences of its dismantling, the author recommends the combination of a theoretical frameworks with empirical studies. In this setting, Laurell not only analyzes the neoliberal model's notion of the delivery of health services, but also examines its immediate and future social consequences.
