Abstract

Over time, a change in the activity of the subjects has been observed. Vigorous physical activity and quality of sleep have in many cases been replaced by much more intense mental activity, which has contributed to a factor impacting physical health. Sedentary occupations, or occupations involving little or no physical activity, have become increasingly common, with an estimated one in two people performing tasks involving little physical activity. In addition to the low energy expenditure of these sedentary tasks, the high mental demands at work have been associated with a higher food intake, suggesting that this can lead to a positive energy balance (Panahi & Tremblay, 2018), so in this article an approach is made, first of the definition of physical inactivity to then give way to mention the benefits that this has in the lives of people, some practical recommendations are mentioned to implement during home confinement in order to have adequate alternatives, according to the literature, to maintain health.
