Abstract

In the 21st century, the United States acted against Islamic terrorism. In broad terms, Afghanistan and Iraq suffered the invasion and occupation of their territories. The Americans provoked resentment from the local population. Such actions, and others, demonstrated the vulnerability of American power globally.
