Octavio Paz, entre el mito, la poesía y la arqueología

Abstract
As it is known, the last year we remembered a hundred years since Octavio Paz was born, hence his extended work had been an interesting motive of analysis and discussion in different mass media as well as in academic forums. In this paper I intend to show the internal relation that one of the most important poems from this author, “Piedra de sol”, had as a connection between esthetics and the archeological history of Mexico because of the quality of poetry as well as the prehispanic myths and symbols involved in the poem.
