Progress and Challenges: approach to the state of knowledge of gender studies in Higher Education in Mexico

Abstract

This article is an approach to the construction of research knowledge that seeks to describe and analyze the various gender studies and higher education that have been made in Mexico in the last decade from the analysis of online articles published in refereed journals and indexed and electronic documents endorsed by universities and research centers in the country.

This text informs, from a compendium of the topics explored as well those which are absent, about the advances and limitations of the studies in the discussion on gender and higher education in Mexico.

It concludes with the need to update and to be precise in theoretical frameworks and methodological studies on gender and higher education as well as the incursion of new lines of research for understanding the changes between the educational actors and new institutional settings

Adscrita al Conacyt-Centro de Estudios Superiores de México y Centroamérica (Cesmeca) en donde ocupa el cargo de Investigadora Cátedra Conacyt. Sus líneas de investigación son: género y educación, transversalización de la perspectiva de género, género y violencia.

Flor Marina Bermúdez Urbina, Conacyt-Ciesas Unidad Pacífico-Sur

Doctora en Pedagogía por la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras / unam. Es académica-Conacyt comisionada al Ciesas unidad Pacífico-Sur. Sus líneas de investigación son: género y educación, educación indígena e intercultural y profesionalización indígena.
