Abstract
In a current context where globalization and modernity invite to erase the autochthonous and the personal the book Los pa ipai: grupos yumanos de Baja California (2023) offers us a broad vision of how this community has experienced and overcome various transformations, from colonial times, to the present preserving aspects of their ancestors. Los pa ipai is the fourth book in the Monografías collection; published and edited by the Instituto de Investigaciones Culturales-Museo de la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California and unlike the previous three (the Cochimís, the Cucapa and the Kumiai) where the doctor, anthropologist and specialist in Yuman groups, Everardo Garduño, appears as the sole author, in this edition he serves as coordinator and shares authorship with Alejandra Velasco Pegueros, Michelle Graham and Manuel Sanchez.
