Abstract

This article compares two aging conceptions: that of a village and that of a peasant community. Eighteen semi-structured interviews were conducted in the village to value the social representation of elders. Whereas the aging conception in the peasant community matured from the trajectory and content of a rumor related to the researcher. Both societies form a unity through a common history, nevertheless with a different sociocultural context reflected through a comparative perspective.
