Abstract
This work shows the analysis of the application of the method of Karl Polanyi based on his model of redistribution and its distinction between markets controlled by a central power and the self-regulating market of our society. Also studies the Polanyi concepts about the Mesoamerican societies of Teotihuacan (100-660) and Tenochtitlan (1427-1521), from the interpretations of the specialists and the conclusions that could be obtained.
