Abstract

This article examens the descriptions and the information presented after Fewkes by several investigators concerning the Hopi, trying directly or indirectly to distinguish two lineages related to the representation of snakes and evaluate the possibility of their presence in the north-east of Chihuahua. The conclusion reached on the basis of these data is that there exist elements for sustaining the hypothesis that in Paquimé were known lineages or clans related to the figure of a snake with two horns and to another with only one horn. With this tentative identification of linages, the dates of centuries XII and XV are proposed for the tableaus. The same data allow us to conclude that the so known "Culto de Quetzalcóatl" had already been established and changed in the local situation in Oasis America before the XIIth century.
