Abstract

The productive system of the Region Lagunera, as well as the water one, have a long story both of conflicts and difficulties, and of searching of agreements; situations that the inhabitants have known how to manage consolidate a system of life that, a spite of this, presents important social and environmental. Thus, the object of this work consists of describing the present use of the water resources of the Region Lagunera, the hydraulic works built for the administration and supply, with special interest of the underground and superficial water, as it is dry ground, where the negotiated matter is a highly scarce resource and at the same time absolutely necessary to establish any form of life and reproduction. It is supposed that facing to a hostile environment the inhabitants enhance a water culture through a paradoxical social system in where livingtogether, although in conflict different groups which have expressed opposite interests in diverse moments.
