Abstract

This article is part of the research in Cruz de Piedra, Estado de Mexico, the community is characterized by agriculture in a process of change from one traditional agriculture to a conventional. In analyzing the outcome of the investigation, showed that the role women have within the standard of living is important to share their work within the process change which is the subject of this article. The work of being a housewife, added agricultural activities, either as payment for labor or as the owner of the land, plus the income obtained through the program Oportunidades, which allow families to invest savings in money conventional products. The aim of this article is to describe the participation of women through what is called the rural culture of women in Cruz de Piedra, Estado de Mexico.

 

The relationship with the environmental work of farmers generated several questions, inclu-ding: What is women’s participation in this kind of environment and farming system? How important is The financial support that the federal government gives to people of Cruz de Piedra, through the Oportunidades program within the pattern of subsistence How important it is? Does migration exist? How does it support people?
