Abstract

This article defines the basic characteristics of the Egyptian and Mesopotamian royal palaces, in contrast with the difficulty of defining palatial structures related to rulers in Teotihuacan. The different levels of the social hierarchy at Teotihuacan are defined and related to their residential structures. The hypothesis of co-rulership at Teotihuacan is put forth.
