Abstract

In this study, the most relevant variables explaining hypnotic behaviour are analyzed. Specifically, it emphasizes those characteristics of the hypnotic situation determining the action of the subjects. This analysis leads to an understanding of hypnosis more as a particular type of intensified mand than as a special dissociative process. Likewise, the relevance which the study of hypnosis in an experimental environment may have in the analysis of the various phenomena related to the verbal behaviour of the subject is suggested.
