Towards an Ecological Market
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article proposes the creation of a new currency, the green dollar, that would be designed to create financial incentives for environmentally - friendly activities, and in the process attend to long standing problems of wealth inequality and poverty. This article goes to some lengths to explain the nature of money and how it is currently contemplated and utilized in order to argue for a repurposing of our financial system in order to support an ecological agenda. Such a proposal contrasts from others in that it will need no new resources, either financial or technological, to be implemented.
