The great crisis of the beginning of the 21st century: concentration of global financial networks

Abstract
Ten years after the 2008 outbreak of the great international financial crisis, the expansion-and-crisis trend continues. This experience not only shows that the financial system is prone to crisis but that it is increasingly shaped by it. In this context, it is discussed the fact that with weaker tools to address financial failures, critical consequences arise, among which the intense concentration of capital and the greater connection of global financial networks stand out.
