This essay of what it is about is to sketch a framework within which the mechanisms of unequal economic relations between the so-called developed and developing countries appear. Or more precisely, the mechanisms by which the former colonial territories of the metropolitan powers have been and continue to be incorporated into the expanding world capitalist system.
