The awakening of the dragon: Global trends in nanotechnology

Abstract

Nanoscience production appears stable over a period of time, unlike patents which trajectory over time seems aleatory. The control of the United States in both, the generation of nanoscience and nanotechnology patents, is evident. However, in the area of publications, China overtakes the United States in number of articles published on nanoscience. And in the field of patents, Japan and South Korea seem to want to compete with the United States in nanotechnology.
