Abstract

Economics as a science cannot be conceived of outside of society, politics, and culture in general, and even less can be considered as the final and hegemonic science, precisely because it is an integral part of that whole, as discussed and analyzed by several of the authors who collaborate in this issue, number 21 of www.olafinanciera.unam.mx.

This autarchic vision of economic determinism has had serious consequences for societies, whether developed or not, and for the benefit of groups of economic and political power.
