The Free Trade Agreement: Indebtedness and sovereignty in Mexico

Abstract
The North American Free Trade Agreement has produced a series of limitations to the development of Mexico. This is particularly evident in the issue of overindebtedness, which has increased government costs, thereby gravely weakening national sovereignty, but more than anything has limited the possibilities of achieving democracy in its most integral sense. The current global crisis continues to weaken Mexico’s economy, along with its sovereignty and democracy.
