Main Article Content
Abstract
During the COVID-19 pandemic, health care workers were immersed in stressors that influenced their emotional health, among them the presence of anxiety, and they also presented diverse coping strategies to the stressors in which they were involved. The objective of the present investigation was to analyze the correlation between coping strategies, stress and anxiety in health personnel who attended COVID-19 cases during the pandemic in Mexico City. The sample consisted of 93 health professionals, all of whom reported having cared for people with COVID-19. The Perceived Stress Scale-10, the Trait-State Anxiety Inventory (IDARE) and the Coping Strategies Inventory were used. The results showed positive associations between coping strategies, state anxiety and trait anxiety, as well as coping strategies and stress. No significant differences were found between men and women in the presence of anxiety; however, all participants reported high levels of state anxiety.
